Take it with a cup of coffee.

Don’t bother with the milk and sugar;

Tastes like these aren’t meant to feel soft on your tongue.

Swallow it whole — or in pieces;

You’ll feel it all either way.

It might slow you down,

Leave a sour taste,

Turn your mouth into sandpaper.

If you can’t breathe,

I won’t blame you for accepting water for air —

It’s okay if you can’t tell the difference.

Take it with a cup of coffee,

Because you have to keep going.
